devine karas-gonzalez is an architectural design + technology major at the university of Hartford in Connecticut. originally from long beach, new York, Devine grew his passion for architecture and design after hurricane sandy in 2012 had devastated communities, destroying about 650,000 homes and leaving 8.5 million people without power.
after the effects of hurricane sandy many began to rebuild and rethink how architecture and design can influence and play a role to improve our communities. through architecture it is devine's belief that we have the power to better the communities around us through sustainable and socially responsible designs which work to enhance the communities they serve.
